    DESIGN EVALUATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A VEHICLE PHYSICS MODEL FOR A DRIVER TRAINING SIMULATOR

    As part of the development of the RLAPS Simulation Software Program (SSP) a vehicle physics model was developed around four subsystems – chassis and suspension, aerodynamics, powertrain, and tires. Tires are the most complex model, and have the most direct impact on the performance and feel of the vehicle model. A complex algorithm governing vehicle physics was presented in a generalized form to guide the programming of the RLAPS SSP. From the generalized algorithm, a practical model was implemented using Unity 3D game creation software (Unity, 2017). The simulation was tested and evaluated against data from numeric lap-time simulation software. Various parameters were opened for tuning to refine the performance and behavior of the vehicle in simulation. The tuned vehicle model performed in such a manner as to exercise the steering, braking, and throttle application skills of drivers using the simulator.

    Digital Shower System With Motion Sensing

    This document represents the summary of the important phases and elements of the communication between components that comprise the semi-automated shower system. The complete system utilizes six major components that work together: an Arduino Mega 2560, a simple user interface comprised of three basic components, a waterproof temperature sensor, a PIR motion sensor, a 2-way low pressure solenoid valve, and a direct coupled actuating mixing valve. This report focuses on the designing process, the testing process, and the functionalities of the system that has been designed. After reading this report, the readers will be able to operate the system and understand how it was designed.

    CMM (coordinate measuring machine)

    This report will be about how we were able to repair a non-functioning coordinate measuring machine that hasn’t been working for four years. In the report, it will talk about the design overview of the PC that DivSys decided to use for a different project and how we got the coordinate measuring machine that is owned by the company DivSys to work again. The report will also talk about the construction, cost, terms, parts, coding and testing phases of the coordinate measuring machine, PC, and the machine’s electrical components of the project

    Ambient Temperature Control

    This report is a summary of my senior design project. The project is called Ambient Temperature Control. This paper includes the parts and design of the project, how it is made and designed. It will also document all important stages of the project as well as any big changes that were made during the process. Consumers love great products with great quality but at the same time affordable. Modern thermostats can be very expensive and unaffordable for many of us. I decided to use to senior design project to create a temperature control device that will not break the bank. The device will read ambient temperature and based on a set point, a fan will turn on to keep that set point within a range. All this is possible by combining designed hardware, a built software and an interface to bring everything to life.

    Hydroponic Control System

    The goal of this project is to design and construct a hydroponic control system. The control system will process signals from the required inputs and control output devices based on operational criteria. The control system will display the amounts of water and nutrients that need to be added on a daily basis to maintain a proper growing environment. A daily chemical test is required so these readings can be obtained. The desired nutritional specs are provided by Emerald Harvest Nutrient Series Feeding Chart. The system consist of 3 chemicals, Grow, Bloom, and Micro. The ratios of these 3 chemicals change on a weekly basis during the 16 week grow cycle. The system will continuously monitor the humidity of the grow area and cycle a humidifier to maintain the area within certain specs. Since the system is designed to be indoors, a way to control temperature is not needed. The grow lights are designed to supplement natural light and therefore the system needed to be placed near a south facing window. With minimal user interaction, the system should be able to provide adequate grow environment for up to 5 small herbs over an entire grow cycle. After a grow cycle is complete, the system is ready to start all over again.

The report will follow the SAE J1772 standard and cover the design of the charging and control circuits, the design of the software, building the charger, and testing various aspects of the charger.     Substation SCADA

    This report will go over the project that was completed as the ECET graduation project. This project involves designing a system that will gather data from various devices in a substation. This data was manipulated and gathered by an RTU. This allows for advanced monitoring and controlling of the devices. The paper will show examples of the design, wiring, and programming of the system.
